Online sessions mean you can access therapy when your schedule makes in-person sessions difficult. Many of the same considerations still apply, and online sessions should be treated in the same way as attending therapy in person.
Preparing yourself for sessions, allowing some time beforehand, and leaving space for reflection afterwards are important. When working online, it can be easy for everyday life to intrude into this time. Ensuring you are in a private, comfortable space where you will not be interrupted helps you gain the most from your sessions.
I usually offer online sessions via Zoom. Online sessions rely on a stable internet connection. While technical issues can sometimes occur, choosing a location with a reliable signal helps sessions run as smoothly as possible.
