Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at nicole@nicolenicolson.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

You do not need to be in crisis or have a clear reason to come to therapy. Many people seek support because something feels difficult to manage or because they notice patterns in their emotions, relationships, or coping that they want to understand better. Therapy can help you explore what is happening and consider what may help.

The first session is a chance to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping for. I will ask some questions to help me understand your experiences, but there is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable. We will also talk about practicalities, boundaries, and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Sessions last 50 minutes. This applies to both in-person and online sessions.

I usually recommend weekly sessions, particularly at the beginning. Some people choose to meet fortnightly once things feel more settled. We can talk together about what frequency feels right for you.

Therapy is not an emergency service. If you are at immediate risk, you should contact your GP, local crisis team, or emergency services. If this is something you are concerned about, we can talk about support options.

Yes. I offer in-person sessions in Worcester city centre (WR1) and at Watersedge Club (WR10). Further details are available on the Worcester city centre and Watersedge pages.

Yes. Online sessions take place using Zoom and last 50 minutes. Some people prefer online therapy for flexibility, while others choose it because it feels more comfortable or accessible. See the specific pages for details.

I work with adults experiencing intense or overwhelming emotions, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, self-harm, and the effects of trauma. I also offer relationship and couples counselling for partners who are struggling with communication, recurring conflict, trust, or feeling disconnected.

If you are unsure whether what you are experiencing fits, you are welcome to get in touch to ask.

You can contact me using the form on the Contact page, by email, or by phone. We can arrange a brief conversation to talk about what you are looking for and the next steps.
